Helping Ministry Students Achieve their Dreamsshared values // on Thursday March 17, 2016
Attending college is the subject of many students’ dreams. However, for some, that dream seems unachievable. The costs associated with attending college can be overwhelming and can drive students away. Fortunately, with the help of scholarships and grants, students can more easily make their dream of attending college a reality.
GuideOne Insurance proudly offers scholarships to help students reach their goals while pursuing a career in ministry. Through the GuideOne Foundation Scholarship, four students are selected each year to receive a $2,500 scholarship to help achieve this dream. Some of the past scholarship recipients have included:
Aleese Baldwin – Aleese started a small group at the seminary that is focused on the intersection of faith, learning and how it impacts college students and their everyday lives.
James Canevaro – James has had the opportunity to teach Sunday school and preach as an intern at Trinity Presbyterian Church. James also hosts a bi-weekly small group and preaches at churches throughout Mississippi twice a month.
Daniel Flucke – Daniel is serving in an internship at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Dubuque, Iowa, where is in engaging in pastoral ministry, preaching, teaching, pastoral care and visitation, youth and family services, and outreach ministry.
Brett Rushing – Brett’s passion is to end Bible illiteracy for students and adults by proclaiming the truth of Scripture, even if it is difficult to understand.
The GuideOne Foundation Scholarship has impacted many religious studies students to date, and will continue to impact students in the years to come. This scholarship influences future leaders in ministry and provides them with hope, direction, inspiration and the education needed to serve their community in an impactful way.
